What is home care?
<\/strong>Home care is care provided in the home of the client. It can include both medical and non-medical care, such as personal care services, companionship care services, nursing care, and any type of therapy. Its purpose is to allow seniors to continue living safely and independently at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why should I choose home care as an option?
<\/strong>Home care Cambridge can enable seniors and older adults to age at home, surrounded by beloved memories and friends and neighbors. It can provide them with the support they need to safely and comfortably continue their routine without having to move to a nursing home or senior facility. What services does Comfort Keepers\u00ae provide?

We also provide companionship care services such as meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, grocery shopping\/errands, incidental transportation, medication reminders, grooming, live-in service and respite care. We can provide specialized care too, including Alzheimer\u2019s disease and dementia care, end of life care, and transitioning home care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are services available 24 hours, 7 days a week?
<\/strong>Yes. We are available 24 hours a day, every day out of the year. This includes evenings, weekends, and all holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you provide services to those in nursing homes or retirement homes?
<\/strong>Yes. This is a good option for seniors in nursing homes or retirement homes who would like a more personalized approach to care, as well as additional assistance and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How much does in-home care cost?
<\/strong>The cost of our services depends on the type and amount of services needed. Please contact us for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there a written plan of care for each client? Is it modified and if so, how often?
<\/strong>Yes. We build confidential care plans for each client in accordance with their care needs. Once the senior and their loved ones agree on the plan, we establish the care schedule and match them with the most compatible caregiver. All care plans may have modification whenever needed. All care plans are also reviewed at least once every six months to ensure the client is satisfied with the services provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How are Comfort Keepers\u00ae selected?
<\/strong>Before a caregiver joins our Comfort Keepers home care Cambridge office, they had their training and screening to provide our services. We perform detailed criminal background checks, driver\u2019s checks, and reference checks. All our caregivers are bonded, insured, and covered by Workers\u2019 Compensations insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How is My Comfort Keeper chosen for me? How will I meet my Comfort Keeper?
<\/strong>Following the in-home assessment, the Client Care Manager will match the client with the most suitable caregiver. The Client Care Manager then introduces both parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will I have the same Comfort Keeper all the time?
<\/strong>At Comfort Keepers home care Cambridge, we believe that only caregiver continuity can allow for a strong, meaningful bond to develop between the client and the care provider. Of course, there may be times when another caregiver will step in or when several caregivers may need for the best caregiving experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if my Comfort Keeper is sick or on vacation?
<\/strong>If your caregiver is unavailable, another caregiver will act as their substitute while they are absent. The client have always information of the change in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are ADLs and IADLs?
<\/strong>Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are basic daily activities and tasks needed for optimal functioning, including bathing, dressing, eating, mobility, and toileting, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) are all other activities that are not as basic as ADLs. They include grocery shopping, running errands, light housekeeping, meal preparation, etc. While they may not be basic, they play a crucial role in improving the client\u2019s quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
