Sidney is a vibrant town with many points of interest for seniors, adults, and youngsters, such as a historical museum, the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea Aquarium, and Mineral World. Its pedestrian-friendly downtown is perfect for shopping and walks with friends whereas a scenic 3.6-kilometer waterfront walkway is great for letting everything go and just relaxing.

Those who love art will find street statues and murals awe-inspiring. Sidney has a small population, which is only one more reason why seniors opt to live here. With our diverse senior care services, seniors can age in place while enjoying everything this stunning area has to offer.

Comfort Keepers of Sidney meets with families all around the area that are in search of quality in-home care for their aging loved ones. We understand the challenges that accompany the search for professional caregivers and more so, how difficult it can be to determine the type of care seniors need. To help during this time, our senior caregivers can arrange a home consultation to meet with seniors and their families. They can help develop an in-home care plan that best accommodates the needs of aging loved ones.

The Consultation

During the in-home consultation, the care advisor does an assessment of the senior’s home. They will attempt to find and remove any obvious hazards that could cause seniors to trip and fall or otherwise hurt themselves. They point out any loose rugs or flooring that needs to be removed, any furniture or other items that protrude into the walkway, and any loose fixtures that need to be repaired. This is all part of the care associate’s plan to keep your loved one safe. Their priority is the safety and well-being of the senior for whom they are responsible.

After the assessment is complete, the family, senior and care advisor sits down to discuss the immediate and future needs of the senior. These include physical and emotional needs and it is important to be clear on the exact needs of your loved one to pair them with the appropriate caregiver. The plans of care we present are flexible and are customized to change as the needs of the senior change.
