Comfort Keepers Brampton provides escorted transportation for seniors, which is more than a ride. A personal support worker helps you get ready at home, travels with you, stays with you at your appointment or errand, and brings you home again. It suits medical appointments, tests, shopping and errands. It is not medical or emergency transport.
More Than a Ride
Living without a way to get around can be extremely limiting, whether you have stopped driving, no longer feel confident behind the wheel, or simply have no one available on the day. Getting to an appointment should not be the hardest part of the appointment. [
Unlike a taxi or a rideshare, escorted transportation is provided by a care professional who does more than pick you up and drop you off.
What this service is not
This is non-medical escorted transportation. It is not an ambulance, it is not emergency transport, and your caregiver does not provide clinical care during the journey or at the appointment. If the situation is a medical emergency, call 911.

Escorted transportation can take you to:

- Social visits, community activities and places you simply want to go
The point of the service is not only the journey. It is that somebody is with you at the other end.
How Escorted Transportation Works
The service is provided by a personal support worker, not a driver. A typical trip looks like this:
- Before you leave. Your caregiver helps you get dressed and prepared for your appointment, so you are not rushing.
- Getting there. They travel with you rather than dropping you at the door.
- At the appointment. They accompany you to your visit and can take notes to pass back to your family, so nothing important is forgotten between the room and the car.
- Waiting with you. They stay with you until you are ready to leave, however long that takes.
- Getting home. They take you home again.
- After you are back. Your caregiver stays with you at home until you are settled back in, until family or your regular care provider arrives, or until you are ready to carry on with your day.
Combine Transportation With Home Care
If you already have a regular support worker from Comfort Keepers Brampton, they can provide this service too, with the added benefit of a familiar face rather than a stranger on the day.
Transportation also works well alongside other support. Many families add it to an existing plan for the weeks after a hospital stay, when appointments come thick and fast and driving is not an option yet.
