2. What types of care services do you offer?

We provide a broad range of in-home care services tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
These include:

  • Companion care and homemaking (meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, transportation)
  • Personal care (bathing, grooming, toileting, mobility assistance)
  • Specialized care: Alzheimer’s & Dementia support, transition services (e.g., after hospital stay)
  • 24-hour/live-in care when needed.
  • Respite care for family caregivers needing temporary relief.
  • Transportation services to appointments, pharmacy, grocery store.

3. How is the care plan created and is it individualized?

Yes, we believe no two clients are the same. Our process includes a free in-home consultation/assessment to gather your loved one’s preferences, health status, lifestyle and goals.
From this, we develop a Plan of Care specific to you: what services are needed, when, how, and who will provide them.
The Plan of Care is reviewed regularly (at least every six months, or more often if needed) to ensure the services remain appropriate.

4. Who are the caregivers (Comfort Keepers) and how are they selected?

Our caregivers (Comfort Keepers) are carefully screened, trained, and employed (not purely contract) to provide reliable, compassionate care.
Screening includes criminal-background checks, reference checks, driver’s record checks (if driving) and other vetting.
We match your loved one with the caregiver whose personality, skill set, and preferences best fit your situation.
If your assigned caregiver is unavailable (sick or on vacation), we have a caregiving team ready so there is no interruption of service.

5. Can services be provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

Yes. Services can be arranged for as little as a few hours per visit up to full 24/7 or live-in care, depending on your needs.

6. How much do services cost and how do I pay?

Because each care plan is individually tailored (based on tasks, hours, frequency, level of speciality etc.), costs vary across clients.
We recommend contacting our Prince George office at (250) 981-4810 for a free consultation and custom cost estimate.
Payment arrangements and financing options may vary; our staff can help you understand available options.

7. How does Comfort Keepers Prince George support nutrition, safety, and well-being?

We use a model called Interactive Caregiving™ which focuses on four key areas: Senior Mind, Senior Body, Senior Nutrition, and Senior Safety.
Additionally, our Nourish Senior Life® Program emphasizes senior nutrition, screening for malnutrition, and educating about healthy eating to help preserve independence.

8. What if I’m caring for a loved one who lives outside Prince George (e.g., Quesnel or Vanderhoof)?

We serve the broader region including Quesnel and Vanderhoof, and can tailor our services to clients living in those areas.
Feel free to contact us to discuss how we can deliver services in your community.

9. How do we get started if we’re interested in care?

Here’s what to do:

  1. Call us at (250) 981-4810 for a free consultation.
  2. We’ll schedule an in-home assessment to gather needs and preferences, then craft a care plan.
  3. We’ll introduce the caregiver, schedule the services, and keep you updated via our Family Portal (online access to care plan, notes, schedules).

10. What if my loved one’s condition changes, or we need more (or less) care?

Because care plans are reviewed regularly, we can adjust the services as your loved one’s needs evolve, whether that means ramping up care (e.g., after surgery, during transition) or adjusting downward as independence improves.

11. Are there reviews or testimonials I can read?

Yes. At our website and Google Account we have client testimonials and reviews from families that highlight satisfied experiences with our caregivers and services.

12. How are you different from other home-care agencies?

  • Locally owned and operated in Prince George with deep understanding of this community and the surrounding areas (Quesnel & Vanderhoof).
  • Personalised care plans, flexible scheduling (including 24/7/live-in), respite options.
  • Use of proven frameworks (Interactive Caregiving™, Nourish Senior Life®) to support mind, body, nutrition, and safety.
  • Family Portal access to keep you connected and informed.
  • Broad service offering: companion, personal, specialized dementia/end-of-life, transitional care.
  • A dedicated team of screened and trained caregivers committed to improving quality of life at home.

13. What happens if there is an emergency or sudden change in condition?

We ensure that our care team is responsive and equipped to help with transitions, such as from hospital to home, or if a sudden change in medical or mobility status occurs. We collaborate with your loved one’s medical professionals and adjust the care plan accordingly.
