Look for Sudden Problems in the Face, Arms or Legs: If there’s sudden numbness, weakness or paralysis in the face, arms, or legs, this may indicate a stroke. Ask the person you are attending in elderly care to attempt to raise both arms, but if both arms can’t lift simultaneously, call for emergency help.

Slurred Speech or Unable to Understand Your Words: If someone in elderly care seems to have sudden slurred speech, can’t understand your words, or seems confused, get medical help.

Sudden Vision Problems: Blurred, double or blackened vision problems are typically signs of a stroke, so don’t hesitate to call for help, even if it has only affected one eye.

Dizziness with Acute Headache: Call 911 if the individual feels a sudden dizziness accompanied by an acute headache. The person may also have altered consciousness, creating additional concern.

Balance Issues or Walking with Difficulty: When someone in elderly care suddenly has balance issues, can’t stand up alone or walk without help, find medical care quickly.

F-Face: Face drooping if the person tries to smile
