As part of the Senior Nutrition aspect of Interactive Caregiving, Comfort Keepers focuses on senior diet and nutrition. The Nourish Senior Life Program creates awareness towards the importance of a healthy diet for those 65 and older and educates the public about malnutrition in seniors as well as provide screenings for malnutrition. A proper diet helps seniors preserve their independence while continuing to live a healthy and happy life. The experts providing our home care services for seniors can not only help by going to the store, but they can also help by selecting the proper food/ingredients as well as by preparing the meal and sitting to have a conversation with your loved one as they eat.
Our personal support workers are taught to use a four-pronged approach we call Interactive Caregiving. This model of care has been shown to help increase our seniors’ sense of well-being and independence. When a concerned family member of a senior loved one approaches us, it is usually as a result of a fall, malnutrition, or medication mismanagement, or loneliness. By focusing on these four areas of mind, body, nutrition, and safety, we are addressing the main reasons a senior needs care in the first place. Through Interactive Caregiving, it is our goal to return your elderly loved one back to a more self sufficient role.
At Comfort Keepers, we take great pride in providing compassionate in home care to improve the lives of not just seniors, but everyone in the family. We know the importance of having peace of mind knowing your loved one is receiving proper care and staying safe in the home. This is why we offer a way to stay connected with online access to view care plans, schedules, and see any notes, messages, documents, and more through our family portal.
