We at Comfort Keepers Parksville are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred during the Lapu-Lapu Festival in South Vancouver on April 26th. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all those impacted by this heartbreaking incident. We stand in solidarity with the Filipino community—both here in British Columbia and across Canada—as we grieve together.
The Filipino community holds a special place in the heart of senior care. Every day, we are inspired by their compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to caring for others. Many of our caregivers, staff, and extended families are part of this community, and we are profoundly grateful for the love and commitment they bring to their work and to the lives of the seniors we serve.
We recognize the emotional toll this tragedy may bring, and we want to extend our support to our team, clients, families, and the wider community. If you or someone you know is struggling, please consider reaching out to one of the confidential support services listed below:
We also extend our gratitude to the first responders and healthcare professionals who stepped in with compassion and care during this difficult time.
