A new initiative for senior home care puts YOU in control. The Alberta Government along with Alberta Health Services and Blue Cross have rolled out a program that allows YOU to pick your home care provider.

Government provided services are mostly unable to provide the care you or your family member needs at the times you want.

This is where Client Directed Homecare comes in, if you are currently receiving public provided home care you can ask your AHS case manager to put you on the Client Directed Home Care service which allows you to pick the company that provides your care, if you don’t have a case manager you can request a referral on the self referral line 403-943-1900.

Many families use this service to subsidise home care for their loved ones, reducing the cost significantly.
