Laurie Saunders

Laurie SaundersLaurie Saunders launched Comfort Keepers in Canada in 2004 and is particularly proud of the team we are building across Canada and the wonderful difference we are making in people’s lives.

Before bringing Comfort Keepers to Canada, Laurie was President of Mirbecca Holdings, an information management firm.  She has also worked as a business and information consultant for a variety of industries as well as spending twenty years in public sector library management.

She has co-authored a book on ovarian cancer which won the Health Care Public Relations Association (Canada) HYGEIA Award.

Laurie has a Masters of Library and Information Services and a MA in History from the University of Toronto.

Laurie’s overall responsibilities include sales and marketing, training and the development of operational and client management policies and procedures.

Janet Reid
Director of Operations

Janet Reid joined Comfort Keepers in 2005 and is a valued resource for Toronto office staff, new franchise owners, clients and the caregiving team. With over 12 years experience in healthcare, Janet has been referenced as the operational lead for the Toronto office including oversight of all Human Resources activity, Scheduling and Quality Control. She has managed the operation of the Toronto office and acted as a national operations subject matter expert for six years. She had previous hands on care experience in scheduling, client care coordination and career coaching. Janet’s goal of continuous quality improvement has resulted in enhanced staff and client satisfaction.

Susan Uno
Franchise Administrator

Bringing 30 years as an executive assistant, Susan has been a welcomed addition to our head office team. Her primary responsibility is to provide the necessary support to the Canadian franchisees. She is a prime example of delivering the highest level of customer service whether face-to-face or over the phone. She is admired for her ability to take on any task and for coming up with new and improved methods to help keep the franchise operations running smoothly.

Barb Clifford
BDM and Client Care Manager

barb-cliffordBarb joined our CK family in April 2012. She brings a wealth of experience to her position as BDM and Client Care Manager. Her professional background as a Registered Nurse includes the fields of Critical Care, Post Anesthetic Recovery, Community Care Nursing, as well as, Clinical Nursing Instructor with George Brown College.

She is an accomplished Sales and Marketing executive & trainer within the medical field, specifically high end medical equipment used in hospitals, as well as, extensive experience within the print, direct mail and advertising world. She is a lover of the arts, especially “live” theatre and also hosts her own weekly TV show.

Paola Medina
Scheduling Coordinator

Paola Medina joined the Comfort Keepers team as a Scheduling Coordinator. Paola is a highly organized and detail focused with a proven track record to accurately and effectively assign front line workers to Comfort Keepers clients across the Toronto and York Region. Paola understands the importance of establishing a relationship with a client and family members and is committed to putting their needs first. She is responsible for merging a client’s specific requests with the right caregiver’s skill set. Paola has a background in staffing, account management and recruitment.
