What Home Care Can Help With
Home care brings support to your loved one at home, matched to what they actually need, from a little help a few days a week to daily, hands-on care. It falls into two everyday areas: personal care and daily routines, and companionship, meals and household support. When needs are greater, care can scale up (see When Needs Increase below). All of it is non-medical support that helps a senior stay safe, independent and comfortable at home.
Personal Care and Daily Routines
Hands-on help with the personal tasks of daily life, delivered with dignity and respect.
Bathing, grooming and hygiene
Comfort Keepers help clients look and feel their best, supporting comfort, confidence and a sense of wellbeing.

We help clients stay active and get out and about, which is good for both body and mind.
Transferring and positioning
Caregivers are trained to help clients move and reposition safely and comfortably, in and out of beds and chairs.
Toileting and incontinence care
Provided compassionately and sensitively, helping clients keep their dignity and self-esteem while receiving help with daily living.

We make mealtimes easier and more enjoyable, and help clients follow the diet their doctor or dietitian has set.
Companionship, Meals and Household Support

Comfort Keepers in Toronto share conversation, activities and meals; regular social contact supports wellbeing and quality of life.

Light housekeeping

Grocery shopping and errands
Shopping at the client’s preferred stores and running errands like picking up prescriptions or going to the post office; clients can come along to stay active and engaged.
Transportation
To medical appointments, the barbershop or salon, shopping, or wherever the client wants to go — part of our Interactive Caregiving™ approach.
Medication reminders
Comfort Keepers cannot administer medication, but they help clients take their own as prescribed, assisting with opening containers, reading labels, and reminding when it’s time for a dose.
Grooming guidance
Help with washing and combing hair and other grooming, so clients feel good about their appearance.
How Care Plans Are Personalized
No two clients are alike, so we build a care plan around the right amount and type of help — from a few hours a week to full-time care — and adjust it as needs change. We start by understanding daily routines, preferences and priorities, then match a caregiver and a schedule that fit.
Specific service offerings vary by Comfort Keepers office location.
When Needs Increase
When more support is needed, care can scale up — and where clinical care is required, we work alongside your medical providers rather than replacing them.
Live-in care
Through our live-in service, a Comfort Keeper lives in the client’s home and provides full-time caregiving on a daily basis. It gives families peace of mind and continuity of care, and is often chosen for someone who may be at risk if left unattended, including clients living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. → Short-Term Live-In Care
24-hour care
With 24-hour care, a team of Comfort Keepers coordinates caregiving in shifts around the clock, so support is available day and night. It suits clients who are at risk if left alone, or who are returning home after a hospital stay. → 24-Hour Care
